Tara Ardalich: Provisional Psychologist

I believe that every person has their own story, strengths, and challenges, and it is a privilege to be part of that journey. As a provisional psychologist completing my Master of Psychology (Clinical), I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, aiming to provide a safe, supportive space where you (or your child) can feel truly seen, heard, and understood. I also provide cognitive assessments for both children and adults, helping to highlight individual strengths and guide meaningful support.

I approach my work with warmth, curiosity, and empathy, taking the time to connect with each person as a unique individual. I take an integrative approach, drawing mainly on evidence-based treatments such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), while also incorporating principles from dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema-informed work, and the Circle of Security framework. Through collaboration, I aim to create thoughtful, personalised formulations and treatment plans that are realistic, evidence-based, and hopeful.

I have a particular interest in supporting people with:

  • Anxiety-related disorders and worry
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Low mood and depression
  • Supporting children with understanding and managing their emotions
  • Attachment difficulties and childhood trauma, including supporting children of parents with mental illness
  • Perinatal and infant mental health
  • Personality traits and challenges
  • Neurodiversity
  • Perfectionism and self-criticism
  • People from refugee and migrant communities, and those navigating cultural transitions or adjustment challenges

My goal is to provide a space where people feel safe, seen, and genuinely empowered — a place to pause, breathe, and explore strategies to help life feel a little lighter.
